not a blizzard, just a WHITE OUT DAY!

The week started with a writing a special letter of request to Frosy asking for him to help make it snow!
We started the day by checking the mail and receiving a very special delivery from Frosty himself! We learned about how snowflakes are special and wrote about how we are special. Not before doing a lot of cutting to make our own special snowflakes.
Next it was on to making snow castles that are extra sweet!
Later in the day we made snow!  All while having time to play in the snow on the front porch.

We are POETS and We KNOW IT!

We have been learning about poetry. The kids are becoming very good at finding sensory language and then using it in their own writing. We even did a little alliteration (my favorite...considering all the boys in my family have alliterated names!)

Adding by Breaking Down to 10

To help reinforce what we are doing in class, I am posting this video to help show the next strategy that we are learning. This week we are working on breaking down to 10 and then adding the extra ones. Please let your teacher know if you have questions.

Acting Out the Seasons

We wrapped up our seasons's learning with a little game of charades! See if you can guess the season before the kids do. One was very tricky and all were creative!
