Telling Time...

Did you know that telling time is super easy if you look at only the hour hand? We do... yesterday we learned to not over think time when looking at on the hour and half past the hour. It was great to see the light bulb go off for so many. As they become more comfortable with this, we will move to the minutes! Here is a little video to help reinforce at home! Please let me know if you have questions.

Wild for ANIMALS... Research!

Today we started our research to go with the animals we picked at the zoo! It was great to see everyone working in small groups and learning new things about their animal. I can't wait to see the books they write.

Teaching ... shows we know it!

We fired up the Cool Aid Corner today to teach a little about shapes. This really helps me know what they know, and makes a verbal connection to their learning. Too cute not to share! I love the teamwork - with another student questioning the reporter!

How does your garden GROW?

Right after Spring Break we planted our class garden. Kids all have a day or more that they are the gardeners to care for it. So far, they are doing a great job because our bean plans are about 6 inches tall! Be sure to check back and see the products of their tender loving care!

Splish Splash... We were taking a bath!

No bath, but lots of splashing. We are so lucky to pair with the Houston Dad's Club to provide differentiated swim instruction as a part of health fitness. Today was the first day that the kids got to go to the pool. Excitement was high! The program is based all around water safety. The kids have had 2 weeks of dry land training and today was the day to make a SPLASH!
