To learn about different winter holidays, we created a Holiday Museum. Each class studied different holidays and tomorrow will teach the other classes. Because we love you, we want you to get a sneak peak at the HOTTEST TICKET IN TOWN! Check out these wonderful exhibits that were created from nothing. The kids researched, planned, and created!
Well Frosty didn't make it snow, but we sure did have a WHITE OUT in First Grade! Last week we mailed a letter to Frosty asking for it to snow. Today he answered with a chilly letter straight from the North Pole.
We started the day learning about snowflakes and why they are special. We wrote about why we are special and cut our own snowflake!
Later, we build snow castles filled with all kind of sweet treats!
We made snow and played with it in the yard! Maybe not enough for a snow angel, but it sure felt good in our hands.
We finished the day with an old fashion snow ball fight!
And warmed up with a little treat and Frosty the snowman movie!
Thank you for helping us bring a little chilly fun to the year!
We are learning how to add numbers to 20 by making 10 and then adding the extra ones. I have solved a problem for you to check out. Please remember, we are learning the process. Most all the kids can solve the problem, but we want them to show how they did it. This will help us when we start to add numbers that are larger and have more groups of 10.
It was a beautiful day for a little run! Thank you for supporting our sister school and making it a fun day for our kids. Ms. Andrews and I even took a lap (I need to run with the kids more - much faster pace).
