Greater Than and Less Than

Being able to describe something helps us learn it deeper! You will see that our kids will do a lot of talking about what they know, and teaching others. Today we used See Saw to create a picture and tell what we know about comparative language in math! Check out these stellar examples. See Saw access letters will come home next week and are a great way to see your student's work. We welcome comments!

Tools, tools, tools???

What could these be used for? We used our science time to make predictions about different tools that scientist use. We had time to touch and explore all the different things that a Scientist needs to answer questions!

Building a Digital World

We are living in a digital world, and it is only getting more so. Today we are able to use the iPads to get our Digital Portfolios started. We use a program called SeeSaw. It is super kid friendly and wonderful for parents to make comments about the kids work. After we get a few things loaded, I will send directions for home access. Next week we will have the iPads all back from MAP testing and be ready to put them to good work showing our learning!

The Best Ticket in Town!

We had the best ticket in town today - to the Number Museum! Students worked with partners to create and exhibit that represented the number they drew out of a hat. I was amazed at their creativity and team work. Even clean up time was full of team work. The class favorite was 3town!Rest assured, just like a wonderful concert, the pictures don't do it justice!

And we are off to the races ...

WOW! Come into our class today at math and you would think we had been working for weeks. We used the information about the way we go home to make a graph. Later we worked with partners to write a sentence about the information we learned from the graph. I have never done this on the FIRST day, and was amazed at the contributions. To decode a few of the sentences... Connect walker, car and bus would be 17! Car has 1 more than walker. Car rider and walker have most. Everything has more than iKids.
